If you are what you eat, then I only wanna eat the good stuff.

If there’s one thing I want you to understand about the Disney brand, it’s that you can count on it for excellence.  That’s why, when I heard the announcement that Gwendolyn Rogers’ Cake Bake Shop would be coming to the BoardWalk resort area at Walt Disney World, I knew this was a match made in sugary heaven.

As a native Hoosier, I’ve had the pleasure of dining at the Cake Bake in Broad Ripple several times, but for my friends who live elsewhere, I thought I’d dedicate today’s blog post to sharing that experience with you, so you know what we’re all so excitedly anticipating for future Walt Disney World vacations.

This summer we celebrated my daughter’s eighth birthday at the Carmel, Indiana location of the Cake Bake Shop with some sweet family members.

When we sat down, our table was already prepared with cards thanking us for choosing to celebrate our magical moments at the Cake Bake.  It was a beautiful summer day, and every inch of the restaurant was perfectly adorned to add to our enjoyment.  Truly, a visit here is as much a feast for the eyes as for the stomach.

You can peruse the menu at this link.  For this visit, we enjoyed drinks and dessert only, though from past visits I can tell you that the quiche and sandwiches are every bit as delicious as the cakes.  The Petunia Punch was a nice citrusy complement to our ample slices of cake, and everything was delivered expediently to our table with the most friendly and thoughtful service.

At the end of our meal, we were given special pixie dust so we could make a wish.  Do you know what I wished for?  That’s right… another glorious visit to the Cake Bake.

Friends, even the takeout bags are beautiful.  So, when the Cake Bake location opens in Walt Disney World in 2023, I hope you’ll make time for it in your schedule.  It’s the most magical addition I could hope for in a place I already love so much.  I think you’ll love it, too!

How can I describe it?  Good food is like music you can taste, color you can smell.  There is excellence all around you.  You need only to be aware to stop and savor it.  -Remy
